We always suggest short girls to get everything in petite department, whether it’s special occasion dresses, petite size cocktail dresses, petite length evening gowns, or even casual dresses for petites.īesides choosing bathing suits for the short height, choosing swimming suits for your body type is equally important. I am 5’2″ and I understand totally how hard it is for you to find pretty much anything that fits properly. What that means is petite women could come in any sizes from XXS to XL and plus sizes.īeing petite (shorter) always makes shopping for clothing harder. under 5’4″ and for some brands under 5’3″) and not the weight. In fashion and clothing, petite is referring the height (i.e. Before we talk about anything else, I also hope you already know what is petite. It’s fun, sexy, and chic, but doesn’t show off any of the goods. If you are searching for petite swimsuits, I presume you are petite. This one doesn’t show too much chest and the lace detailing is in just the right spot. If green isn’t your color either, it also comes in black. How amazing is this suit? The olive green color isn’t typically my thing, but I think it’s super flattering. It fits great, doesn’t feel like it would slip off easily, and is a great, simple option for summer! This suit is pretty basic, but I thought the detailing on the sides was neat. So, it’s not a suit you wanna go wild in the water with as you’d risk showing a little boob. The one thing I will say is that the straps just loop around your shoulders. This a great knockoff version though and under $40! It’s thick material and super snug. I’ve been eyeing the Marysia lace-up swimsuit for almost a year, but just can’t bring myself to spend over $300 on a suit I’ll wear with my kids. Maybe not a suit I’d wear around the in-laws, but it’s a good one! This is one of those suits that is definitely kid appropriate, but will still make your man smile. I think the strap detailing is fun too and unique and gives a sexy vibe off. It is super snug and almost feels like you’re wearing a speedo, which is good if you want your suit to stay on while swimming with littles. It’s probably not the easiest suit to swim in just because it comes of your arms, but if you’re not worried about this, then snag it up! I hate tan lines, so this is a great option to being modest, but still looking sexy. Off the shoulder suits are my very favorite if I know I’m going to be laying out. Super secure so you don’t have to worry about this one falling off when you’re with your littles. I have it tied tight to pull the excess fabric back – it would probably fit someone 5’4″ and above perfectly! But, it’s still my fave. How freaking cute is this suit? Not as cute as Abby, but pretty close, right? I love the wide stripes, the black lace detail, and the closure between the breasts that helps to make it not as “booby.” Just as a note, if you’re a shorty like me, you’ll have to be extra careful with how you tie it in the back. I am wearing a small in each suit (given as a size reference for you all). Target sizing can be tricky at times, but for each of these suits it proved true to size. So, below you will find each suit I tried on as well as my commentary. Abby was in a good and reasonably calm mood, so I decided to do a min try-on session. This week as we were wandering around, we came across some super cute swimsuits. We always hit up the dollar section and then wander the store looking for toddler clothes, new home goods, etc. However, I found these 6 suits this week and decided to give you a sneak peek!Įvery Monday while Emma Grace is at dance, I go to Target with Abby. So, what exactly inspired today’s post? Well, I’m going to be doing a massive swimsuit roundup next week on the blog (per some requests). I’m okay with splurging for one nice swimsuit, but I have a hard time justifying that price for just a normal swimsuit. The problem I’ve found with one pieces though is that they can be so dang expensive like $200 expensive. And as you know, swimming with littles can get crazy, which is why I love the security that a one piece provides. Unless I’m on some remote island with just my husband, I’m most likely doing canon balls into the pool or having underwater tea parties with EG and Abby. The other reason is directly related to my kids. One reason is that I feel a little sexier in them because the areas I’m least confident in. But, I wanted to share them with you because these suits are just too good to pass up.Īs a woman in her 30s and a mom of two very active toddlers, I’ve been attracted to the one piece trend lately. Like real life, non-summer body in a tiny dressing room with my toddler sticky from eating all my mints real. Today’s post is just a tad different than my normal posts. Hello, loves! So glad you stopped by today.
